E.P.O.N.A. (Equine Protection of North America), a rescue for homeless, neglected and abused horses announced its closing due to economic hardship and appealed the community to come forward and adopt their three remaining horses. The community responded and all three long-term special needs horses have been adopted before their barn closing on March 31, 2010. Just prior, four horses were surrendered to the NHSPCA while three with long-term special needs remained on the E.P.O.N.A. property. A call went out to the community both locally and nationally to find these three horses homes and the response was overwhelming.
