For many young boys who grew up after 1969, the first gun they ever picked up was likely not a Remington or Mossberg, but a NERF. Dart and water blasters have come a long way in the last 45 years but there’s never been a NERF gun quite like this! Behind the “World’s Largest NERF Gun” is YouTuber and former NASA engineer, Mark Rober, and YouTube duo Ryan and David of Eclectical Engineering. Together, the three-man team built the monster blaster, capable of firing pool-noodle-toilet-plunger darts more than 30 yards using compressed air, which can also be switched out for black powder. Check out the video above as well as destructive behind-the-scenes testing of the NERF gun in action. (via OutdoorHub)

“The recoil bruised my shoulder, which can happen if you don’t know what you’re doing.” Those now infamous words were written by New York Daily News writer Gersh Kuntzman after his “PTSD-inducing” AR-15 experience in the aftermath of the recent Orlando shooting. There’s been plenty said by the firearms community about the piece (and its follow up), but nothing seemed to capture the absurdity of Kuntzman’s article better than this video rebuttal by a man firing an AR-15 off the tip of his nose. If Kuntzman bruised his shoulder when shooting, surely this man would break his nose, right? One empty magazine later, his nose was, as expected, “not broken, not bleeding, not bruised.” #MythBusted (via OutdoorHub)
