The National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA) Releases the Spring Edition of The Tactical Edge

Doylestown, Pa. (May 2017) – The National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA) is pleased to announce the spring edition of The Tactical Edge is now available. Widely considered to be the leading authority in tactical operations information, The Tactical Edge reaches more than 60,000 law enforcement officers from over 8,000 agencies and divisions.

Members-only features include R.K. Miller’s “The Mission Brief” and “After-Action Reports: Why You Need Them and How They Can Help You” by Jim Balthazar. Also featured is “Reciprocity, Consistency and Your Negotiation,” by Brad Young. The entire issue is available online to law enforcement officers who  become a member of the NTOA.

The NTOA has also made several articles available online to nonmembers, including “Agility Training for Law Enforcement Officers” by Nathan Dicks. In this article, Dicks explains various training techniques to assist officers in improving their rate of force development, or acceleration and absolute speed, to combat the additional weight of their duty gear. Also featured is “National Law Enforcement Museum: History in the Making,” which gives an overview of how the museum was started, its partnership with the NTOA, and the Stand with Honor campaign, which promotes the National Law Enforcement Museum’s Honor Alliance.

Other items of interest are the director’s message by Mark Lomax, an interview with retired Major Mark E. Gibbons on the changes in the field of tactical emergency medical care and where he sees the future of this sub-specialty group going and a student profile from the NTOA Command College on Lt. David Allen of the Okaloosa County (FL) Sheriff’s Office.

The Tactical Edge has been providing the law enforcement community with cutting edge, lifesaving information from leading experts for more than 30 years and is the winner of multiple awards, including the 2006 American In-House Design Award from Graphic Design USA and the 2013 APEX Award for Publication Excellence from Communications Concepts. It is published quarterly in February, May, August and November.
