Doylestown, Pa. (February 2017) – The National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA) is pleased to announce the winter edition of The Tactical Edge is now available. Widely considered to be the leading authority in tactical operations information, The Tactical Edge reaches over 60,000 law enforcement officers from over 8,000 agencies and divisions.
Featured in this issue is Phil Hansen’s “Lessons in Leadership: The Difference One Good Person Can Make.” In this article, Hansen focuses on the leadership lessons he was reminded of as he celebrated the life of Sgt. Steven Owen, a man who clearly loved his faith, his family and his chosen vocation as a law enforcement officer.

The article gives an overview of how a Tactical Emergency Medical Support unit can be an invaluable asset to a tactical team, contributing to the successful completion of the team mission, as well as discussing several TEMS configurations, program development, training, team operations and the keys to success.
Other items of interest are the director’s message by Mark Lomax, an interview with retired Captain Keith Frakes on his career as a SWAT and bomb-squad commander, and a student profile from the NTOA Command College on Officer Ken Kollmann, Lacey (WA) Police Department.

It is published quarterly in February, May, August and November.
