In 1983, I was an 18-year-old American photojournalist, who, while reporting on an a British comedy actor-turned treasure hunter, spent 11 months in a Vietnamese re-education prison on trumped up charges of spying for the CIA. The memoir about that adventure ended up a #2 Top Seller at Amazon.com for three weeks when it was released in 2004.
Though that paperback is out of print, last Sunday, I released the Kindle eBook version of a new edition of my memoir. If you’ve heard about Kindle, you might be as excited about it as I: it might just be the salvation of the publishing world. The new Kindle can actually hold 3,500 books! And though it’ll be a few years before it can take the place of a beautifully illustrated cookbook, it does fine with a book cover, and a few photos in a memoir.
This is a true new 2nd Edition, with information not previously released to either the State Department or the international press.
