American Gunsmithing Institute (AGI),  producers of the most authoritative instructional gunsmithing DVD courses, introduces a brand new Firearms Appraiser Course. Students will have access to over 500 years of knowledge through audio CDs, DVDs, books and an extensive course manual.

Students will receive a manual that is chock-full of information outlining the guidelines of the appraisal industry and how they are applied to firearms appraisal. Additionally, students will receive 13 audio CDs from the top firearms appraisers in the field. The CD’s include interviews with Jim Supica, Director of the National Firearms Museum, National Rifle Association (NRA), as well as Steve Fjestad, author of the Blue Book of Gun Values. These are just two of 11 interviews included on the audio CDs.

Four DVDs are also included in the Firearms Appraiser Course. The material on the DVDs covered includes:

  • Step-by-step review of course content with AGI President, Gene Kelly.
  • Interview with renowned gun expert and Firearms Appraiser, Greg Martin. Greg Martin Auctions brings in top dollar for high quality firearms sold at his auction.
  • Coverage of Restoration vs. Refinishing Firearms with Master Gunsmith Gene Shuey.
  • Appraising in Action with Gene Kelly. Special guest appearance by appraiser and collector Carey Creech who evaluates single action Colt® revolvers and Winchester® rifles.

The course package also includes three of the top firearm industry books as discussed by top experts. These books include: Blue Book of Gun Values by Steve Fjestad, Flayderman’s Guide to Antique American Firearms by Norm Flayderman and American Gunsmiths by Frank M. Sellers. AGI also provides the student with an AGI copyrighted Firearm Appraiser Form. This form takes guidelines from the appraising industry and combines them with the relevant information needed for appraising a firearm.

Once the student has completed the material and passes the course exam, he or she will receive a certification number and documentation as validation of his or her AGI Certified Firearms Appraiser status, as well as an AGI Certified Firearms Appraiser patch to wear with pride.
