Cimarron Firearms Exhibits Authentic Old West Reproduction Firearms at 2024 NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits

Cimarron Firearms, the leader in authentic Old West firearms for competition, hunting, and target shooting, will be showcasing a variety of pistols, rifles, shotguns, and black powder firearms at the annual industry gathering in Dallas, Texas, May 16 – 19, 2024.

Fredericksburg, Texas (May 2024) – Cimarron Firearms, makers of quality replicas of Old West firearms, will be exhibiting at the 2024 NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits, to be held at the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center in Dallas, TX, May 16 – 19, 2024. Cimarron will be showcasing its popular array of authentically reproduced rifles, pistols, and black powder guns in Exhibit Halls A-F, Booth 6820. Additionally, there will be several new models to show, including the improved 1878 and 1887 shotguns, the Arizona Ranger Competition SA, and a few new surprises. For over forty years, the Cimarron brand has continued the legacy of the American West with historically accurate firearms, firearms from the legends of Hollywood’s Westerns, and firearms that combine that old-world look and feel with 21st-century design and production.

“In a sea of black rifles, ARs, and semi-auto handguns, the Cimarron Firearms brand sticks out like a breath of fresh air,” Bryce Wayt, VP of Operations and Media, said. “From our Yellowboy’s brass receivers to our shiny stainless and pearl-handled revolvers, our guns, from a historical vantage point, are the forerunners of most of what you see at NRA.”

The single best, and most economical arm for hunting and defense in the Old West was the side-by-side, double-barreled shotgun. Scores of thousands of these side hammer scatterguns were a mainstay to settlers, miners, ranchers, gunfighters, and virtually anyone who needed a weapon. In times of civil unrest, many lawmen considered the scattergun as the best town tamer and express companies especially realized the value of these smoothbores and armed their messengers with them. They each knew the threat of scattered shots from a shotgun’s blast had a greater chance of dissuading an unruly crowd or a road agent, than would the single projectile from a rifle or pistol.

Cimarron’s 1878 Coach Gun, inspired by an original from the collection, is available in either the full-length 26-inch barrel, or the 20-inch barreled model, both capable of handling 3-inch shotshells, with the traditional exposed side hammers, a pistol grip stock and schnabble forearm, blued barrels and a color case hardened receiver.

Made from an original from the Cimarron collection, the Cimarron 1887 Lever Shotgun Terminator comes with either a 20, 22, or 28-inch round blued barrel, a blued receiver, in 12 gauge and capable of handling 2 ¾-inch shotshells. This is the lever gun that helped establish the repeating shotgun, introduced in the West in the spring of 1888. This 5-shot smoothbore quickly became a success and saw fair usage during the latter years of the frontier. With nearly 64,000 of them made before 1899, the gun was carried by Arizona Sheriff John Slaughter, and the Denver & Rio Grande Railroad issued ‘87s to its messengers.

Cimarron’s Arizona Ranger Competition SA is the best “competition-ready” model in its extensive line of classic peacemaker-style revolvers. What sets this six-gun apart from other single actions are the wide square-notch rear sight and wide constant width front sight, along with slim checkered grips for a better and firmer hand fit, and an action tuned in the U.S. by Cimarron’s skilled gunsmiths. This fine-tuning incorporates Cimarron’s made-in-the-USA competition hammer and trigger/bolt springs that are lighter, smoother, and permit a crisp, no-creep trigger pull, and improved internal parts to enhance reliability. Each Arizona Ranger six-shooter sports an “Arizona Ranger” roll engraved on the barrel.

The NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits spans three days and will showcase over 14 acres of the latest guns and gear from the most popular companies in the industry. It is a celebration of freedom featuring acres of exhibits, premier events, educational seminars and workshops, and fun-filled activities.
