GASTON J. GLOCK style LP, purveyors of fine quality hunting and shooting sports apparel and accessories, announces their sponsorship of a German / American High School Student Exchange program for students from Mr. Timo Snider’s German classes at Kell High School in Cobb County, Georgia. GASTON J. GLOCK style LP has donated $2,000 and 20 black, organic GASTON T-shirts that will be given to the students prior to their trip to Germany. The donation will help to cover expenses for the exchange, such as field trips while the German students visited America this past October and for travel expenses for the Kell High School students when they travel to Germany in June of 2014. The trip was organized by Snider and his wife, with help from several student’s parents.
“In addition to the hours that I put in and the help from wonderful companies like GASTON J. GLOCK style LP, the parent involvement in planning and execution of such a large program really make this exchange work,” commented Snider.
In October 2013, 18 German students and two of their teachers came to Georgia and stayed with American students from Kell High School. While in America, the German students attended classes at Kell High School, as well as visited the MLK, Jr. National Historic Site, the Botanical Gardens, KSU, Fernbank, the Atlanta History Center, Friends of Goethe, CNN, the Aquarium and World of Coke.
In June of 2014, 14 to 16 students from Snider’s various German classes will be embarking on a three week adventure through Germany. The trip will consist of visits to Berlin, Dresden, Berg Hohenstein and Chemnitz, where the students will live with German sponsor families for two weeks.
“As a company founded in Georgia but with deep roots in our German heritage, we felt like this was a special opportunity for us to help students explore new countries, both for the German and American students alike,” remarked Beate Arnold, CEO of GASTON J. GLOCK style LP. “We are happy to be a part of this great student exchange and hope that students from both countries will walk away with memories and friendships that will last a lifetime.”
