IWI US, Inc., a subsidiary of Israel Weapon Industries (IWI) Ltd., announces it will be donating two TAVOR® rifles to be auctioned off at the next “Bullets & Bagels” event to be held Aug. 23, 2015 at the Raahauges Range in Corona, California. Joe Mantegna, best known for playing Special Agent David Rossi in the acclaimed TV show “Criminal Minds” and for portraying Joey Zasa in “The Godfather Part III” will be conducting the auction. Proceeds from the auction will be going to Friends of the IDF, an organization dedicated to supporting the men and women soldiers of the Israeli Defense Forces who defend the state of Israel and to the families of fallen IDF soldiers.

“IWI is proud to support the Jewish community. ‘Bullets & Bagels’ allows all who love guns, great food and Israel to get together, eat, shoot and shoot the breeze. It’ll be a blast. Don’t be surprised if you see me there myself. I could always go for some bagels and lox with a side of TAVOR®,” remarked Vice President of Sales and Marketing for IWI US, Michael Kassnar.

Those attending the “Bullets and Bagels” event will get to shoot the TAVOR® at the range and receive basic shooting instruction and assistance from an NRA-certified instructor. As always, delicious food will be provided. Attendees will also get the chance to meet and chat with the acclaimed actor Joe Mantegna, who will be attending the event.

“We’re very happy that IWI is sponsoring our event. Its iconic weapons have long protected the Jewish people and secured the freedom of Israel. It’ll be a real treat to let my friends at the event shoot the TAVOR® and, hey, I’ll be honest, I’m pretty excited to get to talk with Joe Mantegna too. He’s great in ‘Criminal Minds’,” said Dr. Fred Kogen, founder of Bullets & Bagels.

The TAVOR® SAR won the coveted American Rifleman “Golden Bullseye” Rifle of the Year award in 2014. Forged on the battlefield, the TAVOR® SAR went through 10 years of grueling testing before it was adopted as the weapon of the IDF. These tests have proven it to be reliable under the most extreme conditions, including temperature variations, environmental conditions and constant combat use. The ergonomic bullpup design puts the weight of the weapon against the shoulder of the user, allowing for a more comfortable ready-carry and shooting position.

Members pay $50 to get into the event and nonmembers pay $80. Those wishing to attend can sign up here.
