NIJ Model designation T-112-IIIA is TPG’s first compliant soft armor package manufactured exclusively at TPG’s factory in South Florida. Also noteworthy is that this model was tested across the complete size range of C1 through C5, which means TPG can deliver armor packages of any standard size to the law enforcement, security and military end users.
NIJ Threat Level IIIA soft armor provides the tactical operator with the highest level of protection currently available in soft body armor. NIJ Level IIIA certified armor made by TPG and TPG BLACK provides protection against .357 SIG FMJ FN bullets with a specified mass of 125 gr. impacting at a velocity of 1,470 ft. /s and .44 Mag SJHP bullets with a specified mass of 240 gr. impacting at a velocity of 1,430 ft. /s. As part of the NIJ Standard 0101.06 performance, the armor must also submit to a 30-minute water submersion test, the designated impact velocity must not create any penetrations and the depth of the depression made in the backing material cannot exceed 1.73 inches (44mm).
