A presentation on the Parabon Snapshot® DNA Phenotyping Service will be led by Kaitlin Echols, Snapshot Case Manager, at the Bay Area Training Session for the Fremont Police Department on Feb. 5, 2018 and at the Arizona Cold Case Conference on Feb. 6, 2018.
Reston, Va. (January 2018) – Parabon® NanoLabs, a vertically integrated DNA technology company that develops next-gen forensic and therapeutic products, will be speaking about the use and benefits of the Parabon Snapshot® DNA Phenotyping Service at two separate events in early February. The first speaking engagement will be at the Bay Area Training Session at the Fremont Police Department in Fremont, California from 10 am – 12 pm PST on Feb. 5, 2018. The second speaking event will occur at the Arizona Cold Case Conference at the Black Canyon Conference Center in Phoenix, Arizona from 1 – 2 pm MST on Feb. 6, 2018.
Mrs. Echols will discuss Snapshot, a revolutionary new forensic DNA analysis service that accurately predicts the physical appearance and ancestry of an unknown person from DNA. It can also determine kinship between DNA samples out to six degrees of relatedness. She will discuss how the service can aid in generating investigative leads, narrowing suspect lists and identifying unknown remains, and review actual cases where Snapshot has provided useful information to investigators.
The Fremont Police Department Training Unit is responsible for the training of all law enforcement related employees who work for the Fremont PD. Such training affords both sworn and professional personnel the ability to provide professional and ethical services to the community and citizens of Fremont, California.
Founded in 1981, the Arizona Homicide Investigators, the hosts of the Arizona Cold Case Conference, is comprised of officers, detectives and prosecutors from across the state. Members are provided with four free quarterly trainings per year, as well as the annual conference.
