Owasso, Okla. (August 2020) – Shooting-Performance, Inc. has signed on with Laura Burgess Marketing (LBM), a public relations and marketing firm in the outdoor, shooting sports, law enforcement, and military communities to grow the brand across several markets.
Mike Seeklander, founder and owner of Shooting-Performance, Inc., a premium firearms training company for individuals on every level seeking to develop lifelong skills and for competitors looking to up their game and increase their chances of winning more matches, will utilize LBM’s position in the shooting sports market to further increase awareness of the many product offerings and increase membership.
Seeklander, a former U.S. Marine who served during Desert Shield and Desert Storm and in the reserves, began his career as an instructor before his return to civilian life as a primary marksmanship instructor. He was also employed by the Knox County (TN) Sheriffs Departments Corrections division and was a member of its highly trained Special Operations Response Team. Seeklander continued serving as a police officer in Knoxville, where, besides patrol, he served as an investigator for the Organized Crime section.
He was the Branch Chief and Lead Instructor for the Federal Air Marshal firearms division and also provided instruction in the tactics and physical training division at the Federal Air Marshal training center in Atlantic City, N.J. As a Federal Air Marshal, Seeklander provided counter-terrorism security to commercial American airline carriers. His career as a highly-skilled instructor continued with his leadership at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Charleston, S.C. as a senior instructor and led to his service as president and C.O.O., and Director of Training for the United States Shooting Academy in Tulsa, Okla.
As a shooting competitor, Seeklander has more than 25 titles to his name from major state and area matches in IPSC and IDPA, two national championships at the IDPA BUG Gun Nationals, and a World Championship in the Steel Challenge Production Division. He is among an elite minority in being ranked both Grandmaster and Distinguished Master. His proficiency with firearms led to a six-season appearance on the Sportsman’s Channel’s “The Best Defense” television show as co-host and firearms expert.
Seeklander, a recipient of multiple law enforcement and shooting competition awards, has incorporated his extensive experience in firearms training with his experience in developing curriculum to create training opportunities for individuals, whether for defensive purposes, competition, or professional. His unique programs include traditional on-range classes, online classes, and his newest offering, live-stream classes. Seeklander also offers a comprehensive list of books and DVD’s and affordable membership programs to develop handgun skillset experiences for new gun owners to serious competitors.
