ARMY AIRDROP GONE WRONG
If you’ve watched any military or action movies, chances are you’ve seen a military airdrop in which tanks, jeeps and other vehicles are released from the rear of a plane and gently parachute down to the ground below. However, those are just movies and things don’t always go as planned. Such was the case during a recent exercise in Hohenfels, Germany by the US Army’s 173 Airborne Brigade in which three humvees were destroyed in a botched airdrop. Luckily for us, it was all caught on video to the gleeful cheer of onlookers. (via OutdoorHub)
AIR RIFLES ON CAMPUS
Located just an hour west of us here in North Carolina, students in the Army Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps program at Smithfield-Selma High School in Smithfield, NC are studying more than math and science in class. With donations from the state Wildlife Resources Commission and the NSSF, the school now has an air rifle range on campus just for JROTC students to practice their marksmanship. With the national debate about gun violence and school shootings, the range is a big win for Second Amendment supporters. Learn more about the new range and requirements for students to shoot here. TWICE THE GUNS, TWICE THE FUN
It’s Friday, so we’ll wrap this up with a short, but awesome video of a man dual-wielding Barrett .50 DMG rifles. He sure as hell isn’t hitting anything, but when you consider the muzzle energy coming from each one of these behemoths, who cares? We’ll definitely be adding this to our bucket list.
