Can you believe SHOT Show ended a week ago today? It seems like it was just yesterday I was walking the endless aisles of the gun heaven.. I mean the Sands Expo Center. After a crazy long week in Sin City and narrowly avoiding the East Coast blizzard, we’re back to our regular scheduled programming and finding the best content on social media for this week’s Social Media Reload. Enjoy!

Meet Andreas Wahl, a Norwegian physicist and star of Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation bizarre science experiments “Life On The Line.” (Think of it as a Norwegian version of Mythbusters, without the cool effects and facial hair.) Wahl’s latest experiment involves shooting a bullet at himself under water. If you’re like me, you had the same reaction to that statement as this guy who helped him build a tripod and trigger mechanism for the experiment. But, if you passed 8th grade science, you know it’s harder to create movement in water than in air because water molecules are closer together than air molecules, so the result of the experiment shouldn’t be all that surprising. However, that doesn’t make it any less ill-advised. (via NRK Viten)

IT’S GOING DOWN, I’M YELLING TIMBER
Not a Pitbull and Ke$ha fan? Me either. There’s not much context given with this video besides it taking place in Michigan and the caption, “This is how to cut a tree down!!!,” but none is really needed. By my count, at least a dozen guys armed with various AR-15 and AK-47 rifles take aim at and fire upon a tree until it topples over, followed by a group cheer—because of course. It’s hard to say if this method is easier, or even more economical, than a chain saw, but it sure made for a great video! If you listen to the news, you’ve certainly heard about the terrible “gun show loophole”—you know, how anyone can buy a firearm at a gun show without a background check. From President Obama to Democratic candidates Bernie Sanders and Hilary Clinton, the “gun show loophole” has been used as an anti-gun fear tactic for years, but is it true? Conservative pundit and comedian Steven Crowder took to the streets, specifically gun dealers and gun shows, in a new hidden camera video to see just how easy it is to buy an automatic firearm, or any firearm for that matter, without a background check. Spoiler alert: he proves you can’t. (via The Blaze)
