Team ITI Captain Brandon Wright Places Second Overall in Production Division while Teammate Gary Byerly Places in Top Ten at 2013 USPSA Area 6 Championship
Team International Training, Inc. (ITI) member Morgan Allen won High Overall and the Enhanced Service Pistol (ESP) Division Champion title at the AL 2013 IDPA State Championship, held at the Central Alabama Gun Club in Shorter, Alabama April 19th through 20th, 2013 with a time of 229.28. This is Allen’s fourth consecutive year winning the ESP Division Champion title at this particular match. He won five of twelve match stages. “This match wasn’t a complicated one, but had more than a few technical shots spread at just the right intervals to force many speed changes,” commented Allen. “Although my match began with a bit of a rocky start, it quickly improved. Without a well-documented and rehearsed practice plan and training program in place, early hiccups could have easily derailed my match.”
Allen continued, “Congrats to my teammates Brandon Wright and Gary Byerly for great finishes under the difficult conditions of the USPSA Area 6 match. I’d also like to thank my sponsors for helping make the matches possible, including Team ITI, RangeLog, Rainier Ballistics, Safariland, Abernathy Gun Works and others.”
While Allen was competing in Alabama, Team ITI Captain Brandon Wright and fellow teammate Gary Byerly were at the 2013 USPSA Area 6 Championship held at the Ancient City Range in St. Augustine, Florida from April 19th through 21st, 2013. Wright placed Second Overall in the Production Division with 94% while Byerly finished within the Top Ten.
“This match was a good blend of straight up shooting with some very simple and short stages that complemented the more challenging field courses,” Wright said. “This match displayed a shooters ability to shoot rather than who can figure out the fastest way to shoot the stage. Despite the grueling weather conditions, I was able to focus enough and pull out a second place finish.”
Wright continued, “I’d like to thank all the match staff for working so hard in the hot, then cold, wet weather. They had to endure far more than the shooters did. Congratulations to my teammates Morgan Allen and Gary Byerly for their performances as well.”
Team ITI would like to thank all of their 2013 sponsors for their support: 5.11 Tactical VA Beach, Virginia, Atlanta Arms and Ammo, Dan Burwell Gunsmithing, FrogLube, G2 Gemini, Laura Burgess Marketing, Rudy Project USA and RANGELOG, LLC.
Byerly’s next match is the SC USPSA Sectional held in Summerville, SC on May 3rd through 4th, 2013. Spectators can also catch Wright at his next competition at the 2013 USPSA Springfield Armory Single Stack Nationals held in Barry, IL May 9th through 11th, 2013. Allen’s next match will be the Great Lakes Regional, to be held at the Linwood-Bay Sportsman’s Club in Linwood, MI May 17th through 19th, 2013.
