TEAM ITI PERFORMS SOLIDLY AT 2012 IDPA GREAT LAKES REGIONAL AND 2012 USPSA VIRGINIA MARYLAND SECTION CHAMPIONSHIP

Team International Training, Inc. (G4S ITI) upped the ante this past weekend as members of the team performed strongly and took home division titles in several competitions.

Morgan Allen won the title of ESP Division Champion at the 2012 IDPA Great Lakes Regional, held May 18th – 20th, 2012 at Linwood-Bay Sportsman’s Club in Munger, MI. This is Allen’s fifth consecutive ESP Division title at the IDPA Great Lakes Regional. Allen finished second overall behind Bob Vogel, Overall World Champion in both IPSC Production Division and IDPA. Over 170 competitors came out to compete through 11 stages.

“This was definitely a test of skill and planning, with the morning’s stages increasing in difficulty into the afternoon.  Being able to assess options, and more importantly, the risk vs. reward trade-off, was pivotal.  Just as any competent training program will convey, planning is as important as technical skill.  This match drove that point home,” commented Allen. “Thanks to Gary Cuittitta, Dave Alexander and the rest of the team for putting together yet another ‘shooter’s match’ this past weekend.”

Several team members competed in the 2012 Virginia Maryland Section Championship, held May 18th – 20th, 2012 in Fredericksburg, VA. Team Captain Brandon Wright won Master in Production and placed 4th Overall Production. Gary Byerly clinched the Single Stack Division Overall title, while Cindi Thomas placed second High Lady in Production.

“I’m very happy with my teammate’s performance over this past weekend. The Virginia Maryland Section was a straight up shooting match. With no tricks or traps, the match tested your ability to truly shoot. Congrats to all the winners and thank you for the hard work the staff put in to make the match possible,” Wright remarked.

“The Virginia Maryland Sectional continued its tradition of exciting stages blending speed and accuracy. Every stage had several options on how best to attack it. Attention to detail in stage planning combined with a solid fundamental base allowed me to shoot a strong match and come out on top in the Single Stack Division,” stated Byerly. “Thanks to all of the staff who put the match on. I’ll certainly be back next year.”

Thomas reflected, “It was my first Major USPSA match with my new SPHINX pistol.  The gun is awesome and very accurate; I was able to shoot the match clean with no Mikes and no penalties.  The stages were challenging with a lot of long shots, and the match was very well organized.”

Allen’s next match will be the IDPA SC State Championship, held in Anderson, SC on June 9th, 2012. Allen, Byerly, Thomas and Wright can be seen competing next at the IDPA Carolina Cup held in Oxford, NC June 14th – 16th, 2012.
