Team International Training, Inc. (ITI) members Gary Byerly, Morgan Allen and Laura Torres-Reyes remained on top this past weekend at the Third Annual Virginia State Championship, held at the Kettlefoot Rod & Gun Club located in Bristol, VA June 23rd, 2012, bringing home the ESP Division Champion and High Overall titles, as well as the High Military and 1st Master CDP Division(5th Overall) titles for their team. With over 180 competitors, Allen stood apart, securing ESP Division Champion and High Overall with a score of 205.75 (51). Byerly shot courageously as well, coming in 1st Master in the CDP Division and 5th Overall, winning four of the 14 stages and finishing with a score of 224.23 (62). Torres-Reyes clinched the High Military title with a score of 301.88 (98). Full results may be viewed at the Third Annual Virginia State Match website.
“The 2012 VA State IDPA Championship match this past weekend proved to be a challenging match, bringing in a good number of shooters from several surrounding states, including good representation from Team ITI,” Allen stated. “Having your teammates together in a match sets up the opportunity to collaborate, just as you would hope would take place when formulating any winning strategy. Congratulations to my teammates on their excellent finishes!”
Torres-Reyes commented, “The match was such a pleasure to shoot! The SO’s did all the pasting and acted as the “squad Mom” to keep everything organized and running smoothly. The stages were fun and straightforward, making for a really enjoyable match.”
“The 2012 VA State Championship returned to the Kettlefoot Rod & Gun Club for the third straight year. Judging by the number of competitors the word must be getting out,” remarked Byerly. “Over 200 rounds spread out over 14 stages led to a lot of discussion with my teammate Morgan Allen. Identifying key points on each stage was crucial to both of us finishing well. My thanks to the SO’s and staff for putting together an outstanding match.”
