The 2012 Three-Day Hands-On, How-To Firearms Training Sessions, Clinics and Seminars

Proves Big Success for AGI Organization and GCA Members Alike

The Gun Club of America (GCA), the fraternity for firearm enthusiasts, today announced that GunStock, a three day event held at the Stillwater Firearms Association (SFA) Shooting Range in Fallon, Nevada in June 2012 proved to be a big success for the organization and for GCA members as well. The event allowed for GCA members to attend numerous hands-on, how-to firearms training sessions, clinics and seminars. It included an impressive roster of top instructors and industry manufacturers and allowed GCA members to have access to their favorite AGI instructors, as well as optional (additional fee) all-day training courses taught by iconic Instructors. Attendance was limited to 150 to ensure that the attendees could have maximum one-on-one time with the AGI instructors. The attendance maximum was also set to ensure that the attendees were able to enjoy the maximum amount of time on the range and in workshops with the various manufacturers attending.

Attendees were presented with a chance to meet and greet with their favorite AGI Instructors in person and ask them questions. AGI Instructors such as Master Gunsmith and Certified Gunsmithing Instructor Bob Dunlap, Master Gunsmith Ken Brooks, Master Gunsmith Gene Shuey, Master Gunsmith Darrell Holland, Technical Services Manager & GunTech Editor Jack Landis, AGI / GCA President Gene Kelly and all the other instructors and staff were on hand at GunStock.

“The Gun Club of America invested a massive amount of energy and time into creating a worthwhile event for our members this year with GunStock,” commented Gene Kelly, President of American Gunsmithing Institute and the Gun Club of America. “We were able to deliver once again on the four pillars of our organization – education, fun, savings and fellowship – through GunStock by providing a high level of expert instructors and relevant topics that allowed our members to come together and get involved.”

GunStock attracted over 20 exhibiting manufacturers who brought their latest firearm offerings for GunStock attendees to try at no additional cost. These manufacturers include: 4-D Reamers, American Gunsmithing Institute, Ammo Up, ArmaLite, Babes with Bullets, Cabela’s, Chiappa Firearms, Freeze Dry Guy, GunTech, Gun Tote’n Mamas, Hot Brass, Holland’s Gunsmithing and Shooter’s Supply, Majestic Arms, Nemesis Arms, Ohio Ordnance Works Inc., PISCO, Redring, the Shotgun Sight, Ruger, Sentry Solutions, Shuey Custom and Super Brush LLC.

GunStock attendees fired approximately 100,000 rounds of ammunition over the three day event. Ohio Ordnance Works Inc., one of the GunStock vendors, brought with them a .50 Browning machine gun and 2,500 rounds of ammunition that attendees were able to try out and enjoy.

“The 2012 GunStock event was everything I had anticipated and much more.  I had attended the 2010 Gun Bash in Carson City and thought that was the ULTIMATE gathering.  I was wrong.  Gunstock outdid it,” commented one attendee of the event. “The main difference as I think of it was the camaraderie developed this time.  The firearms and shooting for both gatherings was top notch, but this time there was a bond formed by so many of the attendees: shooters, non-shooters, vendors and range staff.  The aura when small groups and the entire group got together was one of kinsmanship and sharing.  We were a proud and excited family sharing in one of the strongest rights of the American people; the 2nd amendment.”

In addition, over $13,000 were raised as a portion of the proceeds from GunStock to aid the GCA Charity of the Year, The Pathway Home. The Pathway Home is a Yountville, California non-profit, residential recovery program for veterans of the Afghanistan and Iraq wars who deal with the challenges of Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS) or Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). The donation check was presented to Fred Gusman, Founder and Executive Director of The Pathway Home, in early July by AGI / GCA President Gene Kelly.
