The National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA) is now accepting nominations to honor worthy law enforcement officers or organizations with several prestigious awards:
- John Kolman Award of Excellence
- NTOA Award of Valor
- Negotiations Award
- NTOA TEMS Award
- NTOA Unit Citation for Valor
- Spirit of NTOA Award
- K9 SWAT Deployment Award
The awards are for incidents occurring between June 1, 2015 and June 1, 2016. Nominations for each award submitted to NTOA must be for active members of NTOA (with the exception of the Spirit of NTOA award). The deadline for submitting nominations is June 15, 2016, with the exception of the Negotiations Award which is due on Sept. 9, 2016.
Awards will be presented at NTOA’s annual Tactical Operations Conference Awards banquet, to be held this year in Louisville, Kentucky. The Negotiations Award will be presented at the annual CNT Conference in Mesa, Arizona. Recipients are gifted with a plaque and their name and agency are published in The Tactical Edge.
