Can you believe it’s almost 2016? Like they say, time flies when you’re having fun. Throughout this year we’ve brought you the Social Media Reload as a way of recapping the interesting, entertaining and controversial content in the firearms and outdoors industry found on social media each week. If you follow the same Pages or people that we do, some of the videos and stories we shared may have appear on your timeline, but hopefully some didn’t and we’ve been able to provide a laugh or two for you on Fridays. This will be the last Social Media Reload of 2015, but don’t you worry, we’ll be back bigger and better than ever in the New Year!
[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVuWs1n2sQk?rel=0] WHAT’S UP DOC?Even if you haven’t watched cartoons in years, everyone knows the Acme skit of Bug Bunny sticking a carrot in Elmer Fudd’s shotgun and having it blow up in his face. But that’s just a cartoon, right? Leave it up to Matt of Demolition Ranch to put the gag to the test, per the request of a fan, of course. After jamming a carrot down the barrel of his shotgun (don’t try this at home, kids) and remotely pulling the trigger, it turns out there’s more truth to cartoons than we thought. Barrel obstructions—even carrots—are dangerous, just ask Elmer Fudd.
THE FEW, THE PROUD, THE FORCE
After 10 years of waiting, “Star Wars” fans finally have a reason to rejoice as the latest movie “Episode VII: The Force Awakens” opens in theaters today. But, that’s not what’s got us talking—it’s these amazing combat photos using action figures, all done by Marine Sgt. Matthew Callahan. Currently attending photojournalism training at Syracuse University as part of a Department of Defense program, Callahan created the life-like photo essay, titled “Galactic Warfighters,” for fun.
