Big Horn Armory Now Offers Blemished Guns and Canceled Orders For Sale

Receive a high-quality big bore lever action or AR500 rifle at reduced prices.

Cody, Wyo. (April 2023) – Big Horn Armory (BHA), makers of big-bore firearms, is excited to announce it will now have blemished guns, as well as canceled orders, available for purchase. The blemished guns are AR500 rifles or pistols that have minor imperfections in the material that do not meet BHA’s strict standards and will be offered at a discounted price, while the canceled order lever action rifles are in-stock guns that were made to order by customers who canceled their orders during the production process. Both types of firearms will be offered to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. This is a great opportunity for big-bore enthusiasts to get their hands on a BHA firearm without the typical wait time.

“We are excited to offer our customers the opportunity to purchase blemished AR500s at a reduced price and avoid the typical order wait times by picking up a canceled order lever action,” said Greg Buchel, president of Big Horn Armory. “These guns are still of the same high quality that our customers expect from us, and we want to make them available to those who may be looking for a great deal or don’t want to wait for one to be built. We encourage everyone to check our website periodically for updates on these specials.”

During the gun-building process, a blemish, although rare, may occasionally occur in the material that does not meet BHA’s strict standards. However, these guns still maintain the fine fit and finish that BHA is known for. To compensate for the blemish, BHA will now offer these AR500s to its customers at a reduced price. In most cases, the blemish is small and often unnoticeable, similar to a wear mark that a gun may acquire when used in the field. These blemished guns are sold “as is” with no backorders or options allowed.

The first blemished firearm available from BHA is an AR500 rifle with a cosmetic blemish. Regularly $2,399, the MSRP for this particular rifle is $1,999 (a $400, or 17 percent, savings). Chambered in 500 Auto Max, BHA’s groundbreaking AR500 Rifle is the most powerful AR firearm available. BHA’s bold AR design and big bore 500 Auto Max cartridge put an unparalleled amount of power into a pleasant shooting, rapid-firing, versatile rifle. This combination of size, familiar manual-of-arms, available accessories, and energy on target make the AR500 Rifle ready to handle almost any situation.

In addition to the blemished guns, BHA is also making available canceled custom order lever action rifles. If a customer cancels a custom order during the production process, and the gun does not match any other order on its books, BHA will offer this in-stock gun for sale to the public. These specific guns are made to order and no changes to the configuration will be allowed. By purchasing a canceled custom order gun, the buyer will be able to avoid the traditional wait time that occurs while the rifle is being built. These firearms are completed and ready to go out the door to their new owner. The first offering in BHA’s canceled custom orders is a Model 90A chambered in .454 Casull. It is an M90A16-26 with a 16” barrel and Collector Grade Walnut. This beautiful firearm is offered for sale at $6,699.

Built from the ground up and solidly engineered using the latest CNC technology, the Model90A embodies the best of the old Model 86 and Model 92 lever-actions in a modern platform capable of handling the powerful .454 Casull. It is manufactured with 17-4 stainless steel precision machined and properly hardened to deliver consistent downrange performance and rugged in-the-field dependability.

The Collector Grade Walnut is an ideal upgrade for the lever-action collector looking to add something special to his collection. This higher-grade American Black Walnut exhibits more streaking, fancy figure, and fiddle back on both sides of the stock than standard or fancy walnut versions. The Collector Grade Walnut stock and forend are fitted with integral front and stud rear sling swivel mounts. The pistol-grip buttstock has a one-inch recoil-taming pad. The stock and forend are given several coats of a durable synthetic satin finish. The rifle is equipped with aperture rear and post front sights. The large, hunter-friendly curved lever enables ease of operation, especially with gloved hands.

About Big Horn Armory:

Big Horn Armory was founded in 2008 with the expressed intention of designing a Browning-type lever-action gun chambered in 500 Smith & Wesson Magnum. The Big Horn Armory Model 89, made in America, closely follows the work of John Browning with refinements courtesy of modern metallurgy and machining capabilities. The first rifles began shipping in September of 2012 and since then, BHA has added to their big bore lineup with a Model 89 Black Thunder in 500 S&W, Model 90 Carbine in 460 S&W, the Model 90A in 454 Casull, the Model 90B in .45 Colt, the Model 89A in 500 Linebaugh and the Model 89B in .475 Linebaugh. In 2017, Big Horn Armory took a departure from its lever-action series and developed the AR500 Auto Max, the most powerful short-range, semi-auto based on an AR .308 platform.
