G4S International Training, Inc. (G4S ITI) will be teaching an Advanced Observer / Sniper Course at its Texas Campus November 14 – 19, 2011. This course is complete in content regarding advanced sniper marksmanship and the tactical application of sniper / observer skills.
The range and field applications stress precision shooting and proper tactics. Students will be presented a wide variety of live fire drills in addition to both day and night scenarios.
This course will cover the following advanced skills:
- Advanced Precision Marksmanship
- Internal / External / Terminal Ballistics
- Position Shooting
- Engaging Multiple Targets at Varying Distances
- Engagement of Movers and Snaps
- 50 – 1,000 Yard Engagement Ranges
- Known and Unknown Distance Firing
- Stalking and Field Craft
- Urban Operations
- Aerial Platform Marksmanship
- Final Stress Course
Equipment requirements: Sniper Weapon System (SWS) .308 cal or above, Binoculars / Spotting Scope, Backpack / Rucksack, Eye and Hearing Protection, Range Log Book, Sketching Materials, Range Training Uniform, Cleaning Kit, Wet Weather Gear, Lunch and Water. 450 rounds of match grade ammunition is required for this course. Optional: Compass, Range Finder, Shooting Sock, Ghillie Suite, Drag Bag and Shooting Mat.

About the Instructors
Rod of the Storm Mountain Training Center has spent more than 20 years combined, active and reserve, in the U.S. Military, where he served as an operator and then NCOIC of all sniper elements at the Brigade Level in a Light Infantry Division. While employed as a police officer with the Metropolitan Police Department, Washington, D.C., he served in patrol, training and SWAT assignments. Rod’s training and operational experience spans the full spectrum of special operations.
