Team International Training, Inc. (G4S ITI) members Morgan Allen and Gary Byerly both brought home Division Champion titles from this past weekend’s Georgia IDPA State Championship, held October 28th – 29th, 2011 at the South River Gun Club in Covington, GA. Over 220 shooters came out over the Halloween weekend to compete.
Allen won ESP Division Champion and High Overall with a score of 196.20 (30). This is Allen’s fourth year in a row bringing home the ESP Division title. Byerly won CDP Division Champion with a score of 251.18 (82). To view the full results, click here.
“True to form, the GA State IDPA Championship was a technical match with shooters facing a wide array of difficult and challenging stages to complete. Effective training programs cannot cover every situation a shooter will face; however, very good ones, such as ITI’s training, will arm shooters with the skills needed so they can create solutions to these novel situations,” stated Allen. “Every aspect of the GA state match was an example of how to run an IDPA state match. Hats off to Capel English and the great crew he is fortunate to be surrounded by.”
“The 2011 Georgia State IDPA Championship showcased an impressive array of moving targets and unique scenarios,” commented Byerly. “Shooting with a group of division winners and top finishers was invaluable. My teammate Morgan Allen and I were able to identify key points on each stage to maximize our performance. Thanks to Capel English and the staff for an outstanding match.”
Byerly can next be seen competing at the USA IPSC Nationals in Columbia, SC on November 4th – 5th, 2011. Allen has concluded his 2011 competitive shooting season, but is already looking forward to 2012.
