Despite first being introduced at SHOT Show 2014, Crye Precision’s SIX12™ Modular Shotgun has been making the rounds on the Internet this past week as the company has announced the production of evaluation units for select military and law enforcement. A bullpup revolving shotgun, the SIX12™ has a capacity for six, 12-gauge rounds in a revolving cylinder that can either serve as a standalone configuration or dual-defense firearm when mounted to most AR platforms. News developments about the Frankenstein-esque weapon have been limited since it’s debut last year, but it’s safe to say the SIX12™ has gained the attention of both the tactical and civilian markets. BASS PRO SHOPS AT THE PYRAMID OPENS

What could be the eighth Wonder of the World, Bass Pro Shops at the Pyramid opened this week in Memphis, TN after more than 10 years in the works. Thirty-two stories tall, the massive pyramid (the sixth largest in the world) and superstore is situated on it’s own street along the Mississippi River and houses a man-made swamp (complete with alligators), archery and shooting ranges, 10,000 gallon catfish aquarium, bowling alley, full-service restaurant and bar, Ducks Unlimited Waterfowling Heritage Center museum, 103-room Big Cyprus Lodge, free-standing glass elevator, and roof-top lookout. And that’s not even including the “largest assortment of waterfowl and related hunting equipment ever assembled”! As Bass Pro Shops puts it, the Memphis Pyramid is more than just a store – it’s an adventure. (via Outdoor Hub)

It’s a bird (well, technically), it’s a plane, no, it’s a Golden Eagle! Captured on a perfectly placed trail camera near Waverly, TN by Ken Little, the rare encounter of a Golden Eagle attacking a wild turkey is almost cartoonish. The video obviously has no sound, but judging by the turkey’s reaction, we have to believe the eagle was either screeching as it swooped down out of the blue or the turkey simply has unbelievable hearing. According to the Tennessee Wildlife Federation, who posted the video, both of these species have brought back from the brink due to efforts of the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency and private wildlife organizations.
