Sponsored by Pietta®, the Cimarron Firearms Young Gun program is open to young men and women in the Single Action Shooting Society (SASS) and the 4-H Western Heritage Project.
Fredericksburg, Texas (December 2019) – Cimarron Firearms, recognized as the leader in quality and authenticity in Old West replica firearms, has announced the return of the popular Cimarron Firearms Young Gun Program for the 2020-21 season. Cimarron Firearms is partnering with Pietta to find four young men and women who are between the ages of 13 and 18 (no high school grads). This year Cimarron Firearms and Pietta are opening up applications to Single Action Shooting Society (SASS) members and 4-H Western Heritage members, as well.
This coming year, 2020, is the first year that Cimarron is reaching out to the 4-H Western Heritage members. Cimarron Firearms sponsored shooter, Clayton Marxer, The Adventure Cowboy, was a ten-year 4-H member and part of the 4-H Shooting Sports project, and he is currently in the process of becoming a 4-H Shooting Sports Leader. “The 4-H program is an incredible resource for kids to get hands-on experience in a variety of fields,” Marxer added. “To become a leader in their Shooting Sports program is my way of giving back to an organization that taught me citizenship, leadership, responsibility and so many life skills. The 4-H Western Heritage program is a great addition to Cimarron’s Young Guns program, which also focuses on helping kids to grow in responsibility and become tomorrow’s leaders.”
“Cimarron is not only a very valued partner of Pietta’s, but a leading force in keeping the tradition of the old west and wester firearms alive and well,” said Alessandro Pietta, Vice President of Pietta Firearms. “The Young Guns Program ensures that the tradition and legacy of the old west carries on and we are proud to be part of such a great and important program. Cimarron should be applauded for continuing the program, educating the youth and continuously being an advocate of shooting, shooting sports and the Second Amendment as a whole.”
“We are very excited that Cimarron Firearms is including 4-H Western Heritage Project member applications in their search for the 2020 group of Young Guns. It is an honor for our young people to be given a chance to be recognized not only as safe and responsible competitors, but also ambassadors for their sport.” Dr. Todd Kesner, Chair, National 4-H Shooting Sports Committee and Founder of the 4-H Western Heritage Project.
Those chosen to become a Cimarron Young Gun will receive assistance in growing their skill set and become part of the family of Cimarron Firearms sponsored shooters and performers. They will also receive a pair of Pietta revolvers to compete with during the SASS competition season.
Applicants must be committed to their academics, as well as participation and preservation of our country’s history and shooting sports. Applicants will need to create a video about themselves, telling the Cimarron judges about themselves, their student activities and shooting practices, and their future aspirations. Also, several letters of recommendation and a recent report card must be submitted. Applying to become a Cimarron Young Gun is easy. First, log on to fill out the application form.
The application deadline for Cimarron’s Young Guns Program in partnership with Pietta is April 1, 2020 with the winners being announced on or before the 1st of June, 2020.
