BLACKHAWK! 2010 Blogger Seminar Wrap Up

By May 5, 2010October 21st, 20162 Comments

What a wonderful whirlwind the past few days have been. Today the eight bloggers who ventured out to Norfolk, VA to visit the BLACKHAWK! Headquarters returned home after two and half days at the first ever BLACKHAWK! Blogger Seminar. BLACKHAWK! has done Writer Seminars for the past five years, but this was their first blogger seminar. We at LBM and at BLACKHAWK! weren’t sure what to expect, and neither did our bloggers. I’m pleased to say that both parties had nothing but positive things to say about each other by days end.

SERPA Holster Shoot

The first day was jam-packed with information. The bloggers were able to learn about KNOXX Stocks, Slings and Swivels from Gary, SERPA holsters from Chuck and Packs, Bags and Cases from Bruce. In between sessions, the guys out at BLACKHAWK! brought the bloggers out to the Norfolk Police Department firing range, where they were able to have first hand experiencing testing out the KNOXX stocks and SERPA holsters…demonstrated by none other than 5x World Champion Todd Jarrett! They had set up various shotguns with and without KNOXX stocks so our blogger friends could see and feel the difference. They were all quite impressed with what they experienced. Even me, a gun virgin, shot my first shotgun AND handgun that day. It helps when you have Todd as your teacher. More on that in another post. Todd also had them performing various drills for the handgun part.

Cocktail Hour at 1 Fish 2 Fish

Once the day had wrapped up and our brains were overloaded with information, it was time to relax. BLACKHAWK! took the gang out to 1 Fish 2 Fish down on Virginia Beach overlooking the Chesapeake Bay, and boy, we couldn’t have asked for a better night! The food was fantastic, the view, amazing, and the people? Well, let’s just say there was a lot of laughter coming from our table that night.

Yesterday concluded the seminar. We spent the morning learning about Apparel & Footwear from Terry, Knives & Lights from Mato and hearing about New Product Development from Eric. After lunch it was time for paintball, where it was bloggers vs. Navy SEALS. I unfortunately had to hit the road and head back up to Annapolis, but I’ve seen the pictures and heard the reviews from everyone involved and it sounds like it was a great time. The team went out to dinner at BLACKHAWK!’s favorite restaurant, Chick’s Oyster Bar. I’m sad I missed it, but I’m happy to report that I think everyone involved, both bloggers and the BLACKHAWK! / LBM team, walked away with many new friends from this event.  We can’t wait for the 2nd Annual.
