LOUIS, MO: GunBusters, LLC announces its patented, ATF approved, firearms destruction system is now available to all U.S. law enforcement agencies in the fifty states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
GunBusters’ safe, simple and secure system documents the destruction of each individual firearm, providing the agency with irrefutable video records showing the pulverization of each firearm. GunBusters’ service is free with the understanding GunBusters will selectively remove parts and accessories for resale.
Firearms are destroyed in the GunBusters six thousand-pound Pulverizer with two video cameras recording the process. The agency receives electronic copies of the destruction videos; searchable by the firearms serial and evidence or property numbers, plus the date and time of destruction. The recording screen is available in English, French and Spanish.
Historically, GunBusters and their licensees have destroyed over 40,000 firearms for nearly 250 law enforcement agencies. In most instances, GunBusters personnel pick up the firearms at the agencies and securely transport them to their regional destruction centers.
Across the country, law enforcement agencies recover over a million firearms annually. Most are the result of a criminal incident, while others are surrendered to agencies for destruction. Until now, there has been no certifiable, independent, means to document the disposition and destruction of weapons.
